In another step towards more intuitive technology, Amnesia Razorfish introduces the “Connect” system, which allows you to share files between your iPad or phone, and a Microsoft Surface (ETA in home 3 years). The system uses WiFi, proximity detection, unique ID and phone accelerometer, replying on parallel Tcp- and Udp-Socket connection. All you have to do is join the WiFi network of the Surface and then launch the app. After the TAT concept video on the future of surfaces integrating across technologies, it’s interesting to see which companies will actually create systems that make this technology truly functional, user-friendly, and relevant in daily life. Any step towards more intuitive technology and better user experience makes me happy.
